My Night at the #Imomsohard Comedy Tour

Image
There's nothing like being yelled at to wipe your 4 year old's butt to snap you back to the realities of mom duty. It has been exactly one week since my big mom's night out. My sister Corey and I went to see "I Mom So Hard" on their comedy tour. If you are unfamiliar with the duo, they were discovered on Youtube. I will link them below. They are moms, they are hilarious, and they keep it REAL. Like really, really real. Check out their channel I am a big fan! The ladies (Kristen and Jen) are both Nebraska moms. I discovered them after a video they made on Spanx (google it and thank me later) went viral. I laughed so hard, I thought I was going to pee! Everything they said was so relatable. When I heard they were coming to Tulsa (about an hour from my house), I KNEW I had to go. I messaged my sister informing her if she didn't already have plans that night, that WE WERE GOING! She agreed and the plans were set in motion. We decided to stay in a hote...

My 20 favorite Netflix Shows (With Mommy guide)

Image
I absolutely adore streaming services. I feel that Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc have COMPLETELY changed the way we watch television. I mean, RIP Blockbuster - Am I right? With that being said, another great perk of Netflix is that you are in TOTAL control of what you watch. If something isn't your cup of tea, you can simply click off of it and immediately begin a new series without even having to wait. All of the statements below are my opinion. I do not own the rights to any of the shows and I am not going to be compensated if you decide to watch them. I made this list to give you a peak into my Netflix history. I never knew how diverse my streaming choices are until I sat down and started making this list. These are in no order. I numbered this page and started typing! I tried to include a variety of shows along with whether or not I would deem them "kid friendly". I would consider myself somewhere in the middle as far as sheltering my kids- maybe somewhere between P...

Getting My Makeup Professionally Done

Image
I absolutely adore makeup. I love the way it makes me feel and the confidence it brings me. I wear lite makeup most days, especially if I am working. My everyday morning "quick" routine consists of primer, foundation, concealer, eye shadow, blush, mascara and ALL the highlighter. I am not exaggerating. If my glow can not be seen from the space station, I reapply.  I decided to get my makeup done this weekend for a comedy show that my sister and I went to (future blog, coming soon). I have had it done before by Candace, so I did go in with an idea of what to expect. My sister, Corey had not. She was feeling nervous but excited! I picked her up and we headed to get caffeine at a local coffee shop in the downtown Joplin, Mo. Corey ordered a Mohogany Coffee for herself and Candace. I actually don't care for coffee (I know, I know. Criminal!) but I do drink tea so I grabbed a Chai tea latte and gave Corey my chocolate covered coffee bean. We drov...

5 Tips and Tricks for Curly Hair

Image
For years I would only wear my hair straight. I HATED MY CURLS! I couldn't understand why I had to have this messy, wild hair while all the other girls had beautiful, straight and shiny tresses. I come from the era of curls being Ramen noodle, crunchy curls with WAY too much hair gel. Even then, I noticed that my hair never looked the same as the other girls! I started straightening my hair in middle school. I flat ironed it within an inch of its life. I spent hours sectioning off my extremely thick hair and going over it again and again with my Chi straightener. I would simply force my curls into submission. They had NO choice. This is what I thought I had to do to be accepted! I am a few years older and (mostly) wiser! As an adult I have learned to embrace my curls. I still occasionally wear my hair straight but for the most part, I wear it natural. Over the years- mostly through trial and error, I have discovered a few tips and tricks that ensure that I will have a ...

My name is Kendra and I am a hot mess.

Image
We all know "that girl". She is the one who seems to have it all together. She has a great career, the perfect Instagram feed and an adoring partner. Her kids look like they just fell out of a J. Crew catalog. She always looks immaculate. She has never had a zit. She always gets it right! Want in on a secret? Chances are she has no clue what she is doing either, she is just much better at hiding it! Full disclosure: I used both bribery and idol threats to achieve this completely forced picture. My name is Kendra B. I am 27 years old, a wife and a mom of two. I live in a tiny town tucked into the corner of Northeast Oklahoma. I moved there into my husband's childhood home just shortly after we got married.  My boy's names are Carter (age 4) and Bentley (age 8). I have often said that God decided not to give me a girl because He remembered me as a teenager. He wasn't going to subject the world to that insanity again. That is a long story for another blog po...
